Volunteer:

We understand volunteers to have a flexible schedule, take up or support the Friendship staff as and when required within a specific timeframe.  The minimum time of volunteering would differ depending on the nature of the tasks and the volunteer’s interest.  If you are a foreign national planning to come to Bangladesh primarily to volunteer at Friendship, then we encourage you to come for at least three months in order to in order to have a fulfilling experience.

We also encourage specilized volunteers individually or through organizations. If you are a specialist in a field, for example teacher, architect, development specialist, researcher etc, and want to find out more on how you can contribute, then please email us at hr@friendship-bd.org.

Internship:

We understand interns to be already associated with a university or institution, who want to gain work experience, usually as per academic requirements, or have a clear research project on which to work.  The research projects may be for Honours or Master’s dissertation and thesis, or freelance project which can either be developed by the intern, or in consultation with us.  The research or documentation activity taken up by an intern will not only help her/him meet an academic requirement or gain valuable experience, but also be in line with our mission, vision and strategic plans.  In addition to planned work, (s)he should be prepared to assist in Friendship’s activities as and when required, as part of the organization.

Internships in the areas of medicine and public health:

Friendship has internships in the areas of medicine and public health focused but not limited to gathering data on the char population. Requirements for these internships include having completed a master’s degree or being a student in public health and/or medicine.  The minimum duration is four (4) weeks although longer commitments are encouraged depending on the project.  Internships may be located in rural field areas or Dhaka.

Since 2009, Friendship has been affiliated with the Mount Sinai School of Medicine - Global Health Center, New York, USA and internships have been created for data collection for research publications.  These research opportunities are available to individuals from any universities around the world.
