Friendship Internationals in Luxembourg, Holland and France, UK have played an instrumental role in facilitating Friendship's work in Bangladesh and Pakistan. They assist us in creating global awareness about our work, region and beneficiaries, raise funds for projects and most importantly build strong relationships with societies who have contributed so generously towards Friendship. Friendship International is in the process of increasing its reach to Germany.
Friendship International Islands (FI-Islands)

Friendship International-Luxembourg (FI-Lux) Islands are six islands located in Chilmari and Kurigram in the north of Bangladesh. The Friendship Healthcare, Education and Good Governance, and Sustainable Economic Development programmes will be carried out in these islands in an integrated and eco-friendly way. The approach is to increase environmental awareness amongst the char dwellers by using services that are environmentally friendly. For instance, Friendship schools established in these islands will have solar panels, its latrines will have bio-fertilizers, the school buildings will be built with a conscious effort to incorporate bio-degradable materials. |
The aim is to develop these islands into successful eco-friendly and sustainable model islands, so that the same holistic approach can be replicated elsewhere in the riverine areas of Bangladesh to uplift the livelihoods of poor char dwellers.
Kashmir Earthquake, Pakistan, 2005

The 2005 Kashmir Earthquake (also known as the South Asian earthquake or the Great Pakistan earthquake) was a major earthquake centred in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, and in North West Frontier Province (NWFP) near the city of Muzaffarabad. Believed to be the 12th most destructive earthquake of all times and the worst in Pakistan, it directly affected over 8 million people. Friendship International provided access to quality and dependable healthcare services through static and mobile health facilities to the earthquake victims, serving |
the outskirts of Muzaffarabad and surrounding areas. Friendship started its first and only mobile primary healthcare and a clinic in Abbottabad serving the remote areas with ambulance with is also equip to become a small static clinic.
Internally Displaced Persons, Pakistan, 2009

In late April 2009, insecurity in Pakistan’s North West Frontier Province (NWFP) and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) intensified, leading to mass forced displacement of the civilian population. Humanitarian needs among this Internally Displaced Population (IDP) were acute. Friendship International provided assistance during the relief and recovery phases. Forms of relief included food and nutrition assistance, shelter, water, sanitation facilities, primary healthcare, child-friendly centres and teashops for the out of camp IDPs in Malakand. |
