Friendship’s Participation in the Human Rights Fair

Friendship participated in the three day-long Human Rights Fair organized by partner organization Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) and supported by UK Aid and the Norwegian Embassy.  The fair, held from 10-12 December 2011 was organized to mark International Human Rights Day, and held at the field adjacent to Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall of Dhaka University campus. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid inaugurated the fair as chief guest.  Member of Parliament of Nepal Sita Devi Bodel, Norwegian Ambassador to Dhaka Ragne Birte Lund, and Executive Director of MJF Shahin Anam were present on the occasion among others.

More than 67 human rights organisations from all over Bangladesh participated in the fair where they showcased their work.  Friendship’s stall highlighted our work in different sectors such as healthcare and education, cultural preservation, among others.  Additionally, products from our weaving centres in the chars were sold at the fair.
