Friendship, to be featured in Yann A. Bertrand upcoming documentary
Published Date: February 18, 2010Award-winning French photographer and film-maker Yann Arthus Bertrand and his film crew visited and filmed Friendship’s activities in Gaibandha and Kuakata as part of an episode for his television show “The Earth from Above”. Yann Arthus Bertrand is famous for his aerial photography. Many of such photographs are included in his bestselling book “Earth from Above”. His documentary film “Home” so far has been viewed by millions of people across the globe. His other famous project is Six Billion Others, which is a video exhibition of people around the world answering the same sets of questions.
Yann Arthus Bertrand, his team, along with a team from Friendship went to Gaibandha to learn about and shoot Friendship-run schools, a weaving centre providing income opportunities to char women, meet Friendship Char Development Committee (FCDC) members, and the Lifebuoy Friendship Hospital. In Kuakata he and his team witnessed the beginning of a pilot project testing fibreglass boats made especially to meet the needs of local sea-going fishermen.
